ESA International Workshop: Space-Based Solar Power for Net Zero

An international workshop to plan ESA’s next steps towards providing clean energy from space for a greener Earth.

Want to know about how space could provide clean energy to society to enable the transition to a Net Zero carbon world by 2050?

The European Space Agency is holding an online 2-day international workshop on Space Based Solar Power, on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th December. This is a step along ESA’s path to establish a European SBSP preparatory programme. They have assembled an international cast of speakers from the UK, USA, China, Japan, Korea, ESA, Australia and others.

Martin Soltau will be presenting the UK Study and introducing the Space Energy Initiative, and Ian Cash is presenting the CASSIOPeiA SPS concept.

SEI members Ali Stickings, Ili Portuges, Martin and Ian are also panel members together with John Mankins in a discussion of the next steps for SBSP.
